Comments: Jelly Taste Sensations

Mmmmmm, omygod!!! These are such a fabulous gift. So..... this rose jelly would be a bit different than my rose petal jam, but rose-scented foods are popular in many cultures -- usually for desserts. It's a delicate flavor, so anything you put with it should be simple. I'm thinking very high-quality sugar cookies or shortbread (a fancy shortbread with rosemary or mint in it would be amazing), a very good poundcake, or a really good vanilla ice cream. OR, for me this might be the best of all: a little dollop of rice pudding that is made with cardamom. Very Indonesian. Of course, you probably don't have time for all that. :D

You're having a jam tasting? *sob*

Something Indian, like a saffron pudding maybe? Or a simple not terrible sweet custard.

I was going to suggest pundcake.. but I really nice egg custard would be lovely. even angel food cake.

I have a friend who mixes rose petal jam with yogurt and drizzles it over fresh fruit.

I was thinking about making some brownies for tonight, so we could use them to taste it with chocolate. My brownies are much more fudgy than cakey, so wouldn't be too far off from a flourless cake.
