Apparently you lost your knitting super powers when you crossed the New York border. Come back and we'll let you knit successfully again.

How do you usually cast on? There's a German-style cast on method that is supposed to yield an extra-stretchy edge. I found directions online, I think at that pop-up happy About.com site. I'm sorry it's so frustrating.

On the bright side, The Weasley sweater looks AMAZING! And I love the snake scarf, too.

School starts today?! It's Thursday. Weird. They're weird in Florida, Jenn. Come back to NYC and normalcy.

Is it quite an unstretchy yarn? My mum is making a jumper from this really unstretchy yarn, and her cast on was way too tight, so we thought either cast on with a bigger needle, or (what she ended up doing) cast on twice as many stitches and then k2tog all across the first row (but it is a fluffy yarn and therefore hid all the decreases). Hope you get it right! Third time lucky?!

Good luck with school! And what about the tubular caston? Will that work for the hat?
