Stylist Needed
For the past 5 years of living in NY, I've been trying to find a good stylist, but have had little luck. I cut my own hair more often than not and while I do a pretty damn good job if I do say so myself, I think it's time to get a real haircut.
I've been trying to grow out my natural hair color; a fine goal except I now have 5 different colors in my hair and 3" roots. It's starting to look really bad. So I'm really feeling the need to cut out the dyed hair and start fresh. A pixie cut is in order. A pixie cut is hard to do well (especially for someone with lots of cowlicks) and I'm afraid to do it myself.
Therefore: I need a good stylist. I have a guy in Tallahassee that I love. He's great, loves doing new and exciting things with my hair and I always walk out of there with a fantastic cut and color. Sadly, I'm not going to Tallahassee any time soon and really? flying to Florida for a haircut just seems like a ridiculous expense. I need a new person here. I need someone that I trust. Someone who's going to listen to me, but also is creative. After 5 years, I think it's time.
Help kids! Give me some names! I'm about to chop off all my hair myself in frustration and it won't be pretty.

In Which I Ramble For Hours.
I feel so boring lately. All I do is work, sleep and knit. Remind me to budget my projects more wisely next season. I like designing, but 4 projects in 3 months is just too much.
Sweater 2 of 4 is coming along nicely though. Back and Front #1 are finished. If I can get Front #2 done Friday, then I'm well on my way to meeting my mailed-on-Monday deadline. It's Sweater 3 of 4 that I'm most worried about though. They're all sportweight sweaters, but this one is... intense. Colorwork and deep hems need lots of extra knitting time. Hopefully I'll finish 2 of 4 on Saturday, photograph it on Cassie or Moira on Sunday for my notes and then swatch, swatch, swatch for 3 of 4.
Luckily 4 of 4 is cake because I'm going to be a wreck by late May.
Speaking of wrecks, I'm going to start taking a little time out of my busy knitting schedule to go to Bikram yoga again. My poor, little body is tight and stiff and seriously unhappy with all this sitting around knitting. I need to get some serious stretching in or I'll just fall apart.
Oh! This isn't boring! I went to see Eddie Izzard last week! Thanks to the amazing power of Twitter, I found out, from Eddie himself, that he was doing a very small, very informal work in progress show. It was fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of stand-up, but I could watch Eddie Izzard ramble for days. And to have the very web 2.0, New York experience of seeing Eddie Izzard Twittering on stage and Kevin Spacey run up on stage and Twitter that he had just run up on stage with Eddie Izzard was hilarious.
What else? What else have I been doing?
I still like my young man. A lot. We're both super busy, but it's nice to sit on the couch spending "quality time" together even though we're both working on our own projects. During our evenings on the couch, we've been working our way through Arrested Development. I never got into this show while it was on, but you reallyreally have to watch this from the beginning. It's so self-referential that none of the jokes are funny unless you've seen them from the beginning. And I must admit to a serious mad love for Buster.
I really wish Naked juice wasn't so expensive. I'm totally addicted to the Blue Machine and Gold Machine. This is almost as expensive a habit as knitting.
OK, that's probably about enough. I need to get better about writing putting up random posts since this blog is less and less about knitting.
