Super Fred!

Reading/Listening: I've been listening to books on tape lately to and from work. Hour commute each way means lots of listening time. Can you believe I'd never read Coraline? I just finished that the other day. It's a lovely story and makes me want to see the movie even more now. I think we're going to see it in 3D this weekend. I can't wait.

Right now Cassie and I are listening to Ghost in Love. It's a weird little novel. Lots of twists and turns which I'm really hoping go somewhere and aren't just twists for the sake of twists. It's interesting so far, but I get the feeling it could quickly devolve into silliness. Cassie, I know we haven't seen a lot of each other lately, but we need to talk about this. ;)

Knitting: Blegh. That's about all I have to say about that. I don't like what I've got to work on, I'm waiting for yarns for Fall work projects, I'm kind of in a holding pattern. I need to go buy a zipper today for a little jacket I've been making. Once I do that, then I can move on with that project, but for now it's kinda stalled. It's not really bloggable anyway as it's a gift. I'll let you see it as soon as I can though. Honestly, I need another big, multi-pieced project like the pinwheel blankie to fill times like these.

Baking: Friday night, Bacon Night! was hosted at our house. It was very fun. We cooked bacon foods and drank a lot of bourbon. What else does one need in life, really? I made Bacon Chocolate Chip cookies (as well as regular Chocolate Chip cookies for the non-pig-eaters). They were very good, though dense. I guess the recipe makers assumed the pig grease would add more moisture to the mix, but they were still pretty dense even with the bacon and didn't flatten down very much at all. Yum!

I would have pictures for you, but none of them turned out very well. There just wasn't enough light for good food photography. I must invest in an Ott light.

Watching: Still in Twin Peaks mode. There's good tv on regularly now, so I'm not getting through it as quickly as I had been. But that's a good thing. Yeay for good tv!

Super Fred! (Just because I like silly pictures of Cassie and Fred.)
