The new knit.1 comes out Dec 16th and it is going to be awesome. My friends Faith and Tanis are now co-editing it and have taken it in a very cool direction. I'm really happy to have gotten the chance to have a little part in it.
This sweater I busted out in just a month, so I was a little crazed, but it was so much fun. Some sweaters are killers on a deadline, but this one? Interesting, and super fun. Maybe I need to do more lace sweaters?
You really need to get some of that Koigu Mori (their new silk/merino blend). It's lovely to work with and makes a gorgeous, smooth, shiny fabric. And the semi-solid nature of the yarn picks up the texture of the lace, making it look almost iridescent. And that lace is super cool. Almost like lacey cables.
Whee! New sweater!

I really like the cut. It's fun and interesting. And kinda sexy in a silly emo way. But there's a problem. It looks kinda severe with my natural haircolor (a.k.a. Holy crap, I knew I was gray, but didn't realize I was that gray) showing through.

I have to do something about this. I think it'll look a lot better if I dye it. But, I've been trying to grow my hair out so that I can just have my natural color. I'd like to 1) not have to deal with dyeing it all the time and 2) think I'd look really good with the graying dark brown hair. So, any color will need to be able to fade while I cut out the permenantly-dyed portions of my hair as it grows.
My question to you is this: punky red Manic Panic or more natural henna?
Pros and Cons:
The punky red will fade more easily than the henna, so long-term that might be a better option. Advantage: punky red.
The henna is a more professional haircolor and I'm trying to put off a more professional air with the new job. Advantage: henna.
When I had bright haircolors, I would always do a more sedate, conservative haircut. With this more hip, punky cut, I feel like I should have a more conservative haircolor. Advantage: henna.
A lot of my hair (including the back) is still pretty dark, so whatever color I use will end up being kind of patchy just by the nature of the gray coverage. The obviously punky color will, I think, look better patchy. It will just look like I did it on purpose rather than missing spots. Advantage: punky red.
I'm having a seriously difficult time deciding here. Please help!
(Also, yeay backyard!)
