Here's what I've been doing lately:
Reading: Cassie and I always knew that we had similar tastes in... well, a lot of things, but books/music/movies especially. When we moved in together, it was kind of amazing how much our libraries double up. What's cool is that we have enough that isn't overlapped that we're enjoying shopping one another's bookshelves. Who needs a bookshop when I can just walk into the next room? Right now, I'm re-reading some Madeleine L'Engle. I love those books.
Watching: I admit it, I've been sucked in by Battlestar Gallactica. I watched the mini-series when it came out and just wasn't drawn to it enough to continue on. But when 70 people are saying, "you should watch this. you're going to love it. just try it again," it's difficult to resist. So, I borrowed the mini-series and first season from Michelle... Interesting, but not hugely compelling, so I put Season 2 on my Netflix, but not way up in the queue. Months go by. Season 2.0 shows up, ends quickly, and I found myself scrambling to bump Season 2.5 to the top. Dude. Now, I've got one disk left of Season 2.5 and I think Season 3 may get bumped up next.
Also enjoying: Pushing Daisies and Fringe. I'm really afraid Pushing Daisies is not going to get picked up for the rest of the season. I love that show so much. And while this season is feeling a little flatter than last, I will be veryvery sad if they cancel it. Fringe is... bad. But it's bad in a really enjoyable way. I kinda love it.
Knitting: The Drops Jacket is going well. I'm almost up to the armholes. Apparently, I'm really lazy when I'm making something from a pattern rather than doing my own thing. I didn't swatch and then when I was knitting, I didn't measure. So, about halfway through the body, I had to rethink my row gauge and shaping a little. I'm liking the way it turned out though. It cuts in quickly at the hips/waist and then slowly gets a little smaller to the bust/armholes. It's looking pretty good. Laziness pays off. This time. Luckily. I would not have wanted to rip all of that out.
I know I should be paying attention to gauge, I just want to go mindless when I'm not designing. But then I end up having to do math anyway, so I might as well just start off with it, right? Meh.
Working: I did some tech editing for Twist Collective last week. It was nice to get to play editor again. I kinda miss it. I love the new job, but it's not as mentally challenging as knitting tech. I think I may need to start pimping myself out as a freelance tech editor. Math is fun!
Cooking: You all know about my obsession with pie, right? Well, apparently I need to cut back on them a little bit. I apparently now have Pre-Pie and Post-Pie pants. Pie is good though. Pie, Pie, Pie.
Yesterday, someone in my office had tater tots for lunch. I can't begin to tell you how good they smelled. For the rest of the day, they just sat in my brain calling my name. Of course, I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home. Last night, I had the ultimate 4th grade dinner: sloppy joes and tater tots. Fantastic.
Exercise: In an effort to do something about this Post-Pie world I'm living in, I decided I would do the 100 Push-up Challenge. Yeah, that lasted all of 2 days. But I'm definitely thinking about applying the same idea to sit-ups. And thinking about it counts, right?
Because everything needs pockets, I had to add them to my Drops Jacket. And for those of you who had been following the status of my last for-work sweater, I managed to put them in on the first try! (My last sweater was knitted to the armholes and ripped back down *twice* because I kept forgetting to put in the damn pockets. That sweater almost had patch pockets, if any at all.) But this one, the pockets went in easy, the first time.

I got a lot done on this weekend, right? Taking the bus to Boston will do that for you. Plus, I don't think I've knit anything on needles this large in a while. Yeay, knitting for me!
