Self-Enforced Work-Knitting Break

I'm finishing up two work projects right now: one will be finished tonight, the other early next week. After that, I'm taking a little break from the work knitting for awhile. As long as I can, you know. I'm kinda addicted to the design process. But for now, I'm going to be working on a project for me, from a pattern I didn't write. Crazy, right?

For the next month, I will only be working on stuff for myself and friends. Stuff I want to knit. Starting with that Drops Cardigan everyone made earlier this year. I love it and have been wanting to make it, but just haven't had the time. I bought the yarn a few months back, and have just been sitting on it. But now's the time.

Isn't it gorgeous? Malabrigo Worsted in Vermillion. I love the feel of this yarn. I'm sure it's going to pill, but I don't really care. It's so soft and luscious and just look at that red!

The goal is one month of non-work knitting. Bloggable knitting. Can I do it?

Go Vote!

Go Vote!

I realize I'm preaching to the choir and you've all voted early if you could or are going to vote first thing in the morning, but if just one person remembers to vote because of me then that's all I need. Not that I think anyone could have forgotten at this point. This has been the most in-your-face election I've ever seen.

I would love to be totally by-partisan and tell you "it doesn't matter who you vote for, just go vote," but that's crap. It's a whole super load of crap. As women, there's only one logical choice we can make. Vote Obama. Make it known we want a President who doesn't apologize for his intelligence. Vote so this country doesn't take a huge step backwards in women's rights.

And if you're lucky enough to be in California, Florida or any of the other states with marriage amendments on the ballot, vote no! Don't let the government limit marriage for any Americans.

Make your voice heard.
Go Vote!
