Apple Butt

I hope you can see it in this picture. Had I been smarter, I would have lit it differently, but...

My apple has a butthole!!

A coworker went apple-picking this weekend and has been handing out the apples like they're good for you or something. Of course, the 10-year-old boy in me had to grab the apple with a butt.

Luckily, it tasted like apple, not butt.

Rhinebeck 2008

Had I known there were so many hot girls at wool festivals, I would have become an alpaca farmer. DAMN! -- Steve

Rhinebeck was great this year. No expectations. Hardly anything bought. I hung out with people I don't normally see. I <3 you, my lovely knitting ladies. And it was fantastic to get to see Steve, my old friend from Tally, and get to do a little catching up.

Apparently, I hardly took any pictures though. Here you go, the sad, few photos I took during 2 days of Rhinebeck... all from Sunday, oddly enough.

Seriously, kids. That's it.

So, I was planning on going up just for day, but Norma, Claudia and Sylvia invited me to dinner with them at CIA. For as long as I've been going to Rhinebeck, I've been wanting to go to the CIA, so there was no way I was passing that up. Problems with this though: 1. No place to stay the night and 2. wearing jeans and tennis shoes are a no-go for CIA. So, Norma and Sandy offered me a cot in their hotel which someone had vacated the night before. Problem One solved. Then, Norma and I hopped in the car and ran to Target. You should have seen us running around finding stuff. Dress, shoes, jacket, tights, change of underwear, and toothbrush: half hour and $60. We kick shopping's ass. Problem Two solved.

I'm totally making reservations for CIA again next year. Dinner was fantastic. Wild mushroom soup with sour cream and super salty bacon pieces, pear-blue cheese salad with candied walnuts, dry-aged New York steak with risotto cake and spinach and a huge chunk of blue cheese and a caramelized banana cream pie. Makes me drool a little just thinking about it. Thank you, ladies, for the invitation. It was great to get to enjoy that with you!

It was great to get to see everyone! Julia, when are you coming to visit? Norma, as soon as it starts getting warm, you're coming down to fix up our garden. Cassandra and Cassie, when are we knitting? Brainy, I swear, you are the most photogenic person I know. Too damn adorable for words.
