It feels like this is all I do lately: sit on my bed with my laptop playing a movie or music and seaming the blankie. But that's not really true. I can only work on this during the daylight hours, so I rush home from work, pull out the blankie and try to get a few seams done before it gets dark. Soon it'll already be dark when I get home, so I need to get as much done on it as I can before I can only work on it on the weekends. But I'm really surprised at how quickly this is working up. I'm done with about a third of it already. Now, that's not counting the weaving in of ends, but still, that does my heart good.
Plus, I have a weekend of knitting time ahead of me, so let's see how much I can get done then, yeah?
But like I said, the blanket is not all I'm working on. A girl needs a travel project, yeah?

I've been all into wearing hats lately and this Be Sweet Bamboo was calling my name. It needed to be a beret. Or something. A beret sounded cute and easy. ;)
This color is gorgeous and I love it even though it's totally not a nipper color. It's good to branch out, right? Also, I've never been a fan of bamboo yarns. They've been too scratchy or stiff or just don't make very nice fabric. This is fantastic: soft, silky, a very pretty luster, feels good to knit and to wear. Don't know that I'd use it for a garment though. It seems like it might grow too much. But it's just right for a little hat or a lacy scarf or something.

I'm loving the new job, btw. It's always fun to learn new things. And I'm definitely learning new things.
