The Job is Dead, Long Live the Job

So, I've left Vogue Knitting. It was a fantastic job, I learned a lot and I worked with a lot of great people, but I have this other opportunity that would be crazy to pass up. There's a clothing company that is starting a new line and I'll be in the Technical Design team for it. Which is totally awesome and a great career move.

But...

It's really sad to be leaving, you know? Thursday was my last day and I have to tell you I was really upset. I'm definitely excited for this new job, but I still have that feeling of loss. I'm feeling better after having a few days off and I know it will be even better once I start the new job (starting tomorrow, I spent the weekend with Carolyn in Chicago), but it was kind of difficult for those last few days. I guess I'm mourning?

I will still be designing for the magazine, so I'm not out of the industry entirely. That's cool. And maybe now I'll have time to put together a book proposal? I've thought about doing that for awhile, but it's kind of daunting. It seems like so much work.

It was awesome visiting Carolyn and going to Pitchfork this weekend. It was the perfect little mini-break between jobs. Some pictures here and here.
