I've been really cranking out the blanket blocks lately: 9 done while I was on vacation and 5 or 6 done during the holiday weekend. I'm seriously almost done with it. It doesn't seem possible that I could be, though. I've been working on this thing for over a year. It's seen a lot. As a small project, it's been on a lot of vacations, seen a lot of subway rides, confused a lot of people who see me knitting these oddly-shaped, multi-colored amoebas. But now I'm up to 102 blocks, with 15 more to go. The light is at the end of the tunnel and while I'm a little daunted by the sewing up I'm going to have to do, I'm excited to see the result.
To my local ladies, I'm not going to ask you to help me sew this beast, but I will be having a layout party soon. Plan on looking at a lot of blanket for a couple hours and making sure colors/shades are even. I'll make pies for your trouble. ;)
And for my Dr. Who girls, I saw this on the subway a couple weeks ago and just now found it in my camera.

It's real! I knew it! Where's my Doctor?
