1) Wow. Everyone wanted the Cat Bordhi book! I still need to email the winners to get their addresses, but here they are!
Andrea gets the Cat Bordhi book.
Nephele gets Charmed Knits.
And Iris gets the Ana Paula Rimoli book.
Congrats, ladies!
2) My new haircut makes me look like Annie Potts from Ghostbusters 2. It's kinda freaking me out. I was trying to hold off until I got to Florida so I could go to my guy there, but I needed a haircut badly. It was way too long. Instead, the weird Deadhead dude who never cuts it exactly how I want it got to play with my hair again. Is it really so hard to do a sharp angled cut?
But seriously, guys, Annie Potts.

I'm still resisting dying it though. I'm surprised I've lasted this long. Every day I think about doing something just to cover my (now very long) roots. But I can resist. Maybe.
3) Did someone in Chicago send me a chain letter text message last night? At 1:30 in the morning I got this from a number I'd never seen before.
"My life is full of mistakes. I'm not perfect, but one thing i'll NEVER regret is meeting u. Snd to ur true friends & c how many u get bac"
Really? Text message chain letters? I don't get enough of these in my email?
4) Pie.

Cad Bordhi's New Pathways for Sock Knitters
A truely beautiful book for sock knitters. As you've come to expect for Cat Bordhi, it's full of interesting textures and amazing constructions. I love to look at it, but honestly I'm just not a sock knitter. In fact, I'm going to confess something here. I don't like wearing hand-knit socks. I don't find them comfortable. There. I said it. I just don't like them. I like making them, but really, how many pairs of socks can I make for other people? Not that many, apparently. So, have my gorgeous Cat Bordhi book. Make yourself or someone you know a beautiful and intricate pair of socks. Just not me.

Next up is Ana Paul Rimoli's Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet.
I love this woman's work and I love this book. It comprises some of the cutest amigurumi I've ever seen. I, luckily for you, seem to have 2 copies of this book. One of them is all mine. You couldn't pry it out of my cold, dead, still holding a crochet hook and no longer cute hands. But I don't need 2 copies. Go! Take the book! Learn to crochet for the love of the cuteness like I did. You won't look back.

Here's another book I have a bunch of copies of, but this one makes a little bit of sense. Charmed Knits by Alison Hansel.
Remember how I have a pattern in there? When it came out, everyone and their brother (but not my brother) gave me copies of it. I swear I have 6 copies of this thing. It's one thing to be proud to be published; it's another thing to have 6 copies of a book you have one pattern in. Not that there's anything wrong with that; it just doesn't fit in my destashing mind frame. I'm going to see my parents at the end of the month. I'll take them a copy (maybe one for my aunt (Hi, Neeno!) as well). That plus giving a copy to you guys will really help lessen the Charmed Knits load.
So, yeah, if you're still here, comment and let me know which book you want. Free to a good home. Maybe send me a picture with something you made from it? That's not required though. Hell, you're already doing me a favor by taking these off my hands.
Also, curried pear pie? Delicious. Pictures, recipe soon?
