Black Cherry? Plum?

blackcherry2002_2.jpg

Here's the new color. What do you think it is? Black cherry? Plum? Eggplant? I added a black henna over the pink/burgundy that was there making this a slightly darker, more natural color. It's still interesting, but not as wild this time.

Please don't mind the grumpy-looking photos. I'm not grumpy; just haven't quite woken up yet. :)

I almost just cut off all my hair entirely and went natural. Weird, I know. But I'be been coloring my hair since I was 16. I'm quite a bit gray now and have no real idea how it actually looks under all that dye. For years now I've been coloring it as much because I wanted to cover up my patchy grays as it was to have fun and interesting colors. Now though, the gray is a little bit more even and I'm thinking this summer might be the time to chop it off and see what's actually going on with my hair. This hair color is a first step in that. See, sincethis time I didn't do a funky color or an all-over color at all, but only henna'd it, it'll slowly fade away. The henna will keep me from having such clear roots from pink to natural. I'll keep getting trims and slowly cut out the pink until I have enough roots (and it's warm enough) to just chop it all off. Then I'll let the henna fade. That will definitely be interesting.

Just how much older would I look with short salt and pepper hair, do you think? It's kind of hard to imagine.

No one really came close with the guesses. Most of you thought I was going bright red. I admit, I do have quite the track record with that. I'll just randomly choose winners instead. I'll show prizes and winners soon. Thanks for playing!
