Almost Finished Object

Ah, the cowl. I just keep ripping and redoing this thing. At this point, I've just let go and I'm going to finish.

This is a slightly better photo of the color. You still can't tell how rich this mustard-y gold color is, but it gives you a slightly better idea. I guess I'm a sucker for trend colors, because this mustard is everywhere now. It's gorgeous and, apparently, the hot new color for spring.

I'm a little worried about how I'm going to block the lace out on this though. I wasn't really thinking about how to block in the round when I started working. Do you have any suggestions for me? I'd love this edging to really stand out. The first edging is done, it just needs to be grafted together. I'm going to finish the second edging today and graft. I'll have finished product photos soon for you, I hope.

You know, if I don't rip it out again.

First up in the Finish What You've Started Project: the green cardi I started last spring. I'm going to add knitted in hems at the bottom and sleeve cuffs. Part of me thinks I should add a collar, but part of me thinks I should just put in button bands and leave it simple. But wouldn't it look cool with a big shawl collar?

Mmm... pie.

Any of you who talk to me regularly on Gmail know that I love weird holidays. Tomorrow may just be the best of the weird holidays (though today's Answer Your Cat's Questions Day may be close second.) Tomorrow is National Pie Day. I need to make some pie to celebrate. What do you think I should do? My Sour Cream Apple pie? Chicken Pot pie? Mmm... Blueberry pie? What do you think? Suggestions?

Reading Norma's blog this morning was very funny. See how huge her cowl was? That's exactly how mine looked! I also have ripped mine out and re-started it. [Pictures soon.] Cousin, we're doing the same things again.

I posted a bunch of my stash and unfinished objects on Ravelry this weekend. You know what? I have a lot of projects that are almost done. I think I need to try finishing some things. So, what I'm going to do is take one night a week just for almost finished projects. Maybe that way I'll get something done. Also, I put up some yarns that I'd like to sell or trade. Take a look. Maybe there's something there you'd like?
