Diamond Lace Cowl

cowl1.jpg

Even though I have mucho work knitting to take care of, I also have this yummy yummy yarn sitting by my bed wanting to be knitted. It's Alchemy's Monarch (a 70% cashmere, 30% silk blend) and is lovely. That picture doesn't show the color so well. I'll try to do a better photo of it to highlight the golden color. I originally tried making it into a hat, but Valentina wisely told me that a hat was no good. This yarn needs to be next to the skin. (Really, if your yarn store carries it, go rub up against it. It's amazing.) So with a few suggestions from friends, I've decided it needs to be a cowl. This diamond lace is very pretty (from Barbara Walker's Charted Knitting Designs). I think I'll do a horizontal diamond lace border at the top and bottom. My question is: should it be in the same color or contrasting? I can't decide. [Ravelry]
