That blanket, as awesome as it is, and as much as I like knitting on it, is a whole lot of blanket. A whole lot of knitting. No seaming yet, I'll not do that until the very end (and lord, let me have the money for an Ott light on that day. Just the thought of mattress stitching black on black with black yarn gives me the wiggins.) The very end won't come for a long time. Think, you know, next spring or something.
Unless I get a bug up my butt for finishing it for something random. As we all know I've been known to do that.
But taking a break from the blankie for a bit, I've been knitting some toys. You know how much I love the toys. Right now I'm deep in toy overload, nmade possible by Lucinda Guy and her books And So to Bed... and Handknits for Kids. I'm totally smitten with the way she shapes her toys. I've made some of these before, but they were for gifts and I couldn't blog about them. But Otto has been haunting me lately and I had to remake him. For myself this time.
And one is never enough when it comes to potato chips... and toys.
Meet Otto:

And Florian Fox:

Otto only needs wings and a scarf and Florian is well more than a tail at this point. I just thought introductions were in order. Soon they will be ready for proper viewings.
4 more days until I get to see all you Rhinebeckers. I can't wait!
