Yum!

acid green lace weight

This is my prized purchase of Rhinebeck... 3100yds of super-fine (gossamer? cobweb? quel difference?) laceweight in 50% merino/50% tencel. It's *gorgeous* and I can't wait to figure out what to make with it. Go, Skaska, go. There was also some self-striping laceweight I wanted to get, but I should experiment with one skein first, right? Maybe I won't like it (ha!), maybe it'll drive me crazy, I might finish something in it by Rhinebeck next year. If I still like this lace knitting thing, I can get it then. ;)

OK, so. Here's the deal. I need a pattern for this stuff. I don't like triangle shawls for me: I just don't think I'll wear it. What I'm thinking is a really long, kind of wide scarf. Can you think of such a pattern? Can you give me an idea as to where to look for stitch patterns that I can put together for such a thing? This stuff wants to be beautiful. Help me help it reach its potential. ;)

Also for helping others:

Who to the What, now?

...Rhinebeck? Um, yeah, I kind of remember something about that... There were some people and some yarn and fluffy animals... It's all kind of a blur now though. I might remember more of the weekend if I had taken more pictures than just the one of these beautiful ladies:

Cass and Jack

Where are the alpaca? The sheep? The puppies? All the other people? Gah.

So, I bought some Trekking (amoungst other things... pictures will follow... at some point), not for socks, but for a stripey lace scarf. It's looking pretty good.

Um, yeah, that's all I've got the energy for at the moment. I stayed home from work on Monday, slept all day, and I still feel wiped out. Send caffeine. Please.
