Booty Swap

After the postcard swap, I got to thinking that I wanted to start my own swap. The only problem was that I couldn't think about what to swap. Pinku's done some great swaps with the crocheted flowers and the pink stuff, Mariko's participated in tons of candy swaps and stuff, Alison's a force of nature with the Sockapalooza thing, but what kind of swap should I do? At first I thought Jess Hutch-esque toy swap, then I thought stuff from your hometown, and all kinds of other random ideas, but it wasn't until I started talking about it at work that I got the best idea. You know how I'm all obsessed with pirates lately, right? It's "Arr-this," and "Arr-that", and "aye, it's driving me nuts." And then it hit me like a treasure box full of booty...

That's right, me beauties... It's a pirate themed secret swap. The rules are thus, sign ups begin now and end March 1st. I'll make the match ups and send them out the first weekend in March. It's kind of like a Secret Pal, but with more specifications... Booty will be shipped to your Booty Pal-yes, I said Booty Pal. I'm having so much fun with this. Anyway, booty will be shipped to your Booty Pal on March 31. It needs to include:

1. Something made.
2. Something stash-y.
3. Somehthing to eat.
4. Something bought specifically with your person in mind.
5. And of course, something piratical.

There don't need to be 5 things in the box, you can mix it up if you want. Make some pirate cookies and tick three items off your list. But if you want to put 5 things in the that's fine, too. "They're more guidelines, than rules." Open to anyone, you don't have to be knitter to join! Also remember, this is The Swap of Small Treasures-you want to give things that you treasure and that they will treasure. It's about a connection... you know, with your Booty Pal. :)

I don't really have anything going on, I was just thinking about you and wanted to say hello.

I forgot my camera cable at home today, or I'd have a picture for you. Regina sent me a skein of Socks that Rock in the Christmas Rock colorway. It's pretty in a not very Christmas-y sort of way. I'll show you pictures soon so you can judge for yourself. Thank you so much, Regina. It's not just the socks that rock.

My Olympic knitting is going along well. I think I can make it. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

Michelle, Jackie, and I are going to have fondue (pdf link) tonight. Yum!! I can't wait.

The other day while trying to delete a Gift List I had for someone else on amazon.com, I accidentally deleted my Wish List. I honestly almost cried. Three years and multiple pages of totally random stuff that was mostly on there so that I could remember what I wanted, gone. It's going to be a full weekend project for me to try filling it back up. I don't even remember half the stuff on there. Ugh.

Before I started my Secret Knitting Project (aka, Olympic Knitting), I started knitting on the super cool pirate sweater dress on the cover of the new knit.1. I can't wait to finish my Olympic knitting so I can get back to my pirate dress. It's got to be done before the new Pirates of the Caribbean comes out. Pictures of that soon, too.

So, yeah... that's what's going on. I guess I had more to say than just "Hi," after all. Crazy.
