Project #2 of January: The Month of Me: Nipper's Racing Stripes. This is also Project #2 of 2006: The Year of the Stash, but you'll find out more about that soon.

Ah, Racing Stripes. Ostensibly, I'm using this pattern, but considering all the changes I'm making I'm really only using the schematics. I'm using a different yarn with a different guage, the yarn is textured so the cables and bobbles won't show up (hell, even the ribs wouldn't show up without that stripe of white on there), and I'm sizing it down. But I love the shape of the sweater, I need a new cardigan, and this bulky yarn knits up super fast. All of this adds up to me love, love, loving this project. You'd just think that I'd have enough of editing patterns at work that I'd not be doing it at home as well.
The yarn is some Karabella Puffy that I got from the yarn swap It is just amazing. It's 100% merino wool and feels lovely against my skin. The texture does make it a little difficult to design with since you can't really see the stitches, but I still like it a lot. (By the way, you have to check out the intro to Karabella yarns' website. It's so much fun. Way to go Karabella!)
So, Project #2 underway. Project #1: Socks that Rock are almost to the halfway point. I just need to finish the toe and it's on to sock 2. Woohoo! What's next?

That's right. I've restarted the Socks That Rock. Well, not restarted, just picked them back up again. I love this yarn. This Two-Can Rock is such a great colorway, but I'm kicking myself now for for buying more colors. I need more!! I did have to go buy more needles when I restarted the socks. I pulled the sock out of the basket it was stuffed in and put it directly in my bag for work the next day without really looking at it. I was about to start working on the sock when I realized that one of my double points had broken. :( But that's OK, I'm really liking the knitting on two circulars thing. I've been converted!
So thus begins January: The Month of Me. Knitting for me, all the time. I'm going to love it.
This is so funny! Knitting graffiti rocks the house!
