New Weasley Sweater

little ron sketch.jpg

OK, so with the new Harry Potter movie has come a new Weasley sweater for that cute, little Ronald. We all know I have to jump on that, right? I don't have time to knit it or anything yet, but I've been doing a bit of sketching and swatching in my down time. I can't wait to make it. It seems like such a fun knit and the yarn I've chosen is just amazing. It's Misti Alpaca Chunky (100% Baby Alpaca) in a black and white marble. I doubt if it's exactly the same yarn, but I think this is a good choice size- and color-wise. I think it's a little less bulky than the yarn shown in the movie, but I don't want anything really chunky. Size 10 or 10.5 needles are big enough for me. I also think this is an excellent choice for color. Here's a picture of Ron with the sweater on (it's under the striped cardigan.) I can't tell if it's brown and white or black and white, but I think that black and white would make a better sweater for me. I'm seeing the movie again this weekend so I can get a better idea of construction and such. I'll try smuggling in my camera so I can take a few furtive pictures...

Now I just need for the holidays to be over so I can get to work.

*** Update: Yeay for Thuy finding a slightly better picture of Ron's sweater here. Thanks, lady!***
