I hurt. My wrist hurts, my arms hurt, my back hurts, my neck hurts, my head hurts... I have decided that I am I'm sticking with knitting, because I'm not strong enough for bowling. Man I suck. My best game was a 44.
The Boy's band, The Memphis Morticians, played at this great bowling alley in New Jersey last night. Asbury Lanes is such a fun place. They've got the stage set up across two lanes, a great DJ, a pretty good selection at the bar (they had cider, which is more than I can say for a lot of places), and more tater tots than you can shake a stick at. I had a lot of fun until this morning, with the soreness and the mild hangover. That's all kinds of not fun.
Have a great holiday from all of us here at the Nipper Ranch.
Go, bird, go!

Sadly, I'm not going to have much knitting to blog about in the near future, so you're just going to have to get by on random blah, blah posts for awhile. I've got so much holiday knitting to do and such little time in which to do it. Lots of toys (they're great presents), hats, scarves, and Weasley Sweater ornaments... One month of quiet knitting insanity coming up!
I'm sure I'll find some fun new things to regale you with, though...
What a cute little robot! This is my friend Amy's birthday present, so I don't get to enjoy him for very long, but while he's here he's being snuggled. Amy's allergic to wool, so I made him out of Rowan Cotton Glace and Paton's Grace (same thing really). I like the feel of him made of cotton, very soothing in a way. And Cute As Hell! Once again I have to say, Jess Hutch, you have outdone yourself on your patterns. She'll be getting more booklets in later this month, go buy one! You need it!
I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire last night. I loved it. I had to keep telling myself that they were not telling the story in the same way, but that they were telling the story. Unlike the last movie where all the things that I thought important were left out, this told the story very well. To be sure, there were a lot of things left out, some that didn't drive the plot, some that seriously do (and I'm concerned about that), but overall I loved it. It was funny, it was exciting, the effects were very good, they made great use of the Weasley twins... I also think Ralph Fiennes as Voldemorte was amazing. He gave the character weight and a sort of fey regality that other actors would not have been able to bring to the part. You could see how a certain contingent of the Wizarding World would have followed him. I think GoF might have actually pushed Sorcerer's Stone out of first place for favorite HP movies. And that's difficult. I'm going to have to see it again... soon!
And you best believe I'm going to be making the new Ron sweater.
