Ouchies.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions on my wrists. I've been stretching my shoulders and neck and doing the fun "lion-face" thing Mindy suggested. People think I'm pretty weird, but you'd think they'd have realized that by now. I also went out and got these braces to wear while I type. I wore them last night while I slept because I do sleep on my hands and that probably makes the problems worse. But I woke up with my hands hurting worse today. I'm thinking about getting this style splint, but I want to try the stretching and everything first. Hopefully that will fix things.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Have you seen this? The Daily Kitten It's the cutest thing ever. I don't have any progress shots for you, so I figured I'd just give you a big dose of cute-ness. Enjoy!

When Hobbies Attack!

I'm hurt myslf by knitting. How sad is that. I haven't knit since Sunday. Ouchies.

I started my Rosedale United this weekend. This project has been calling my name for awhile. I just couldn't stand the temptation any longer. I'm knitting with size 5s to get gauge and it is some stiff knitting. I knit *a lot* this weekend and that's probably what has killed my hands. Isn't it beautiful, though? I love Kureyon. These colors are awesome.

I realize that it's not entirely my knitting that is killing my hands. I've been spending most of my days at work typing and I'm quickly realizing that the laptop is hard on my hands also. But the knitting is certainly not helping.

What do you do when your wrists hurt? Do you have any suggestions for wrist guards or gloves or anything? I can't stop typing at work, and I don't want to stop knitting, but I can't have my hands achy all the time either. :(

Here's a progress shot on the Sock-a-Palooza sock that I haven't been working on. It's probably good that I'm showing these in black and white, because I just cannot get the color to come out right.

Knitters in the Paper

newspaper article

There was an article written about the knitting group that I'm a part of in our local newspaper. It's really fun that we were in the paper, but I'm a little uncomfortable with the article itself. I'm not a big part of the knitting group. I go only sometimes; I didn't start it; hell, I'm not even a founding member. I was vocal the day we were interviewed, but no more than anyone else. I really don't have more quotes than anyone else, but the author seems to focus on me a little. It's like "It's the Jenn-head show, starring me I'm Ms. Jenn-head." (Does anyone get that quote? You're the coolest if you do.) I feel really weird about this, like I took over their knitting group or something. I didn't want that.
