Pocky, Pocky, Pocky

what flavor pocky are you?

[c] sugardew

I'm not really sure this is right, but I like Milk Pocky so I'll go along with it. I think I'm kind and I don't like looking at roadkill, but I don't cry. Unless it's a doggy or a kitty... maybe then.

But who wouldn't?

Gidget Goodness!

That Mindy, she's so good to me, and not to mention, oh so crafty. She just sent me some very fun stuff she made.

This is a very cute little felt pouch. I had to switch it out for my change purse as soon as I pulled it out of the (pink and orange) tissue paper. Very cool!

You may have heard of mule-spun or hand-spun, but this is Mindy-spun! It's her newest bit of hand-spun yarn. Very Point 5-esque. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I've got some superbulky hand-spun in pink that I could do something with this as a stripe in it. The question is, what though? Hat, scarf, who knows...

(And that puppy always wants to get in the pictures...)

Here is the newest in my collection of Mindy-made stitch markers. Isn't that little skully the cutest?!? I'm going to need to start a big lace project just so I can use all my cool stitch markers. Does anyone have any ideas for what to do? I have 4 balls of Kidsilk Haze in Marmalade and one skein of Knitpicks' Alpaca Cloud in Tidepool. What should I do?

Also, another question for you all. I'm about to start my Sock-a-pal-2-za socks, but I know that my pal reads my blog. I really think she will guess that I'm her sock maker if I show the sock. Should I risk it and show in-progress pictures? Or should I wait and just show them when I'm done?

Flashdance Nipper

flashdancenipper.jpg

Just give me a flippy skirt and some leg warmers and I could be an extra on Flashdance. I sewed up the arm seams on the Slippery Nipper this weekend and then tried it on... Dear God, look at that neckline. I want a boatneck, but this is ridiculous. It's not so much a boatneck as an off-the-shoulder thing. So, now I'm going to rip out the neckline and try again. I need to do a little research into how boatnecks are usually made, so if anyone knows of a good pattern, let me know.

But yeah, Slippery Nipper coming along very well!

I woke up with Meatloaf's I'll Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) in my head. Stupid Dr. Pepper commercial... I like Meatloaf... as an actor. But this histronic, overwrought, "love" song is driving me to distraction. It doesn't help that I only know two lines from the song. Argh!! I'm now listening to Fischerspooner in an effort to get something else stuck in there. I wish I had some They Might Be Giants at work, that would help a lot!

P.S. I know I look tired in that picture up there. I promise that's not how I look normally. I got up early this morning, took that picture, and uploaded it so I could write this blog post at work. For those of you who haven't seen me at 7:30 in the morning, this is what I look like. Just call me Zombie Girl.
