Sleeve One: Finished.

Helps when you pay attention and don't try doubling the size of the piece. ;) Sleeve two started today. I'll get to the armhole shaping pretty soon now.
So, this whole "making up a project as I go along" thing just isn't working out for me. Here I am thinking I dodged a bullet on the length of the body, only to make another stupid mistake on that sleeve I finished yesterday. Everyone knows that when you want to add 22 stitches, you increase one at each end 22 times, right? That is right, isn't it? Gah! Knitting 112 rows, I kept thinking that this was a rather wide sleeve. "That's kind of odd, but I'm sure it's right," I kept telling myself. Never once counting stitches just to be sure. Never once measuring, even though I just screwed up the body by not measuring. No, no, I just kept knitting merrily along slowly doubling the size of the sleeve.

Perhaps I should pay more attention, be less careless? Maybe? Or perhaps I should join Alison's February Fix-It? It's not an existing knit, but I'm constantly messing it up. Perhaps this "making up a pattern as I go along" thing is too much for my little brain while I'm trying to do school. I should break out an easy patterned something and focus on that until the end of April...
*snort* *giggle* Bwa-hahahahahaha!
Sorry, I'll stop laughing in a few minutes. Like that's going to happen.
My dog got fixed last week and has been horribly traumatized by the experience. Monday was the first day she seemed to be back to her happy hyper self again. To keep her from scratching at her stitches, the vet suggested buying her a shirt to cover them. My dad is fully against all dog clothes, so we didn't get her one. Well, when my dad went out of town yesterday, what did my mom and I do? Go buy that dog a shirt, of course! I wanted to find her a cute girly shirt, but they didn't have anything good in a small enough size in pink. Isn't she adorable in this one though, with its blue stripes and little rattle patch on the front!?! I'm so glad she's feeling better and looking so cute.

My dad's going to kill us.

Here's the first sleeve of Baby's First Raglan, almost done to the armhole shaping.

Happy Valentine's Day and Happy V-Day.
Thanks, everyone, for your good advice and compliments! I was amazed at how many great suggestions there were and I blushed more than once. I'm beginning to think the cropped look will be fine. I'm just glad I figured out my mistake before the sleeves and the sleeve shaping. I think what I'm going to do is to leave it as is and if I still think it's too short, block it out a bit, and if that doesn't work I'll rip out the ripping and knit more. But I don't think it'll be very cropped, I just need to wear a pair of higher rise pants with it. Stupid Gap jeans where everything is low rise...
