Here we have the frilly green edges of the Nipper Cammie. See how pale they are? That was not the look I was going for when I decided to do navy and green. I was expecting that green to be much more bright and contrasty. Now that I actually get it on there, I see that it is far too pastel for what I was going for. What am I going to do about it? I'm going to go buy different yarn tomorrow. I hope to stick with the navy/green combination, because I bought gorgeous olive silk ribbon to thread through the trim. If I can't find a good green, then I might have to go ribbon shopping again. I realize that's not a horrible thing, as I like shopping and ribbon is cheap, but I hope I don't have to. I really like the idea of the navy and green.
The frills aren't nearly as difficult now and I am really glad. I wasn't quite sure what I was doing when I started, but now I'm really happy with the way they are looking. If I can get a good color to contrast the navy, then I will be very pleased with this sweater.
Do you remember how I went to Beard Papa's when I first moved up here? Well, I took a different route to work the other day and guess what I saw... A new Beard Papa's opening in September not that far from my work! Dear God, that's dangerous. Having one on the Upper West Side is difficult because it makes me want to stop on the way to work for a creme puff. Can you imagine how difficult it's going to be having one a few blocks from my job?!?! When I get bored I want to eat. When I have down time at work, I go get food. Oranges from the deli are much better than creme puffs! I really don't want to weigh 800 lbs.
I thought it was really interesting that they had a help wanted sign in the window, but it was only in Japanese. I guess you do have to be cute and Japanese to work there. Not that I could ever have that kind of job... You know, that whole 800 lbs. thing.

I'm back in the swing of the things, knitting-wise. I've been working on the Nipper Cammie. I finished the back and have sewn up the sides. In the picture above, I'm trying to get the green frilly edges right. It was hard, but I'm almost done! Yeay! It took me awhile to figure out how to cast on with my left hand for the frills, but I'm excited about the way they're turning out. I hope it looks okay when it's done, the edges keep trying to curl under. I should be done tomorrow or the next day. Perhaps, when I finish this, I will want to work on my Pooling Rainbow again. Yikes.

Happy birthday to Rupert Grint, the cutest little Ron Weasley ever. Geez, the boy is ten years younger than me, he makes me feel like a dirty old woman.
