I'm starting to get to that deer-in-headlights phase of moving. I have far too much to do in far too little time. My to-do list is getting out of hand. I now have a full-sized notebook with a to-do page for everyday from now until June 3rd. (The leaving day has been moved up one day. eek!) I have at least 2 things to do everyday, but usually much, much more. I've been putting things off that I should not have done and am paying for it now.
This box of Colinette Point 5 has tried to be a sweater twice now. For some reason, I just cannot get guage with it. The first time I tried, the sweater was slightly too tight everywhere and would have been fine if I could have gotten my head in the neck hole. But no. So I ripped it out and tried a different needle size and the sweater just hung off me. It has been sitting in my closet waiting for me to rip it again. The other night I got into that mood and with the help of my handy-dandy ball winder, ripped it all apart. I have now decided that this yarn just doesn't want to be a sweater. (Besides the fact that all that heavy yarn makes me look like a barrel.) So, once I get a job in New York (no more shopping until gainfully employed,) I think I will get a bunch of pink and grey yarns in different shades and textures and make my first blanket. And no wimpy little one-person throw for me either, I think I want to make a full-sized blanket. I think the yarn will be happier in that form and will look really pretty with pink and grey. (This is what I'm doing instead of packing. I'm so good at procrastination.)
I also wanted to thank Rob at Threadbear for dealing with me for the past month. I was trying to get some Cascade Fixation for a trade with Pinku. It must have been popular because they were out at first and Cascade was seriously back ordered. Rob was really good about answering my questions and emailing me anytime he got new information. I totally suggest using them for your yarn purchases, they rock! Thanks, guys!
Cardi Raye is going to be the death of me, for certain. I only have one sleeve and the collar left to sew in, but I can only work on that sweater for short bursts. I spent an entire movie sewing in the last sleeve, so I might be able to finish the sweater at some point this week. I'm not holding my breath though.
But while I have been putting off the Cardi Raye, I have been knitting with my washi yarn that Kat sent me.

I'm not using a pattern, I didn't check for gauge, I'm just knitting away. I did, however, pull it off the needles after a couple inches to make sure it would fit. It will be a lovely, loose, open knit, summery tank. I hope it turns out. This yarn is super thin, thinner than any sock yarn I've ever used. I'm getting this open knit look on US3's if that tells you anything. I can't imagine having to go back and re-knit all this (200 stitches to the row) if I screw it up. Cross your fingers for me.
And send me some patience for sewing up Cardi Raye. I need that more than anything. ;)
