I have joined Becky's Bottom's Up Knit Along to take my mind off the debacle that is my Cardi Raye. Wow that's two sweaters on the bench now that I'm frustrated with and don't want to finish. I should do them, Rogue and Cardi Raye, but when there are cute bucket hats to be made...
The dark yarn is navy, I'm not sure you can tell in the picture. I'm thinking about doing some space-themed embroidery on that one. Mmmm... cotton angora. It feels so soft and yummy even before I knit it up. The fun colored yarn is Noro Lily, a cotton and silk blend. In this picture, there looks like there are sparkles in this yarn. Rest assured there are none. I've done enough sparkley stuff to last me a long time. You should definitely try this yarn out. It feels so good. I couldn't decide between the two, so I'm making one in each.
Then I *will* work on Rogue and Cardi Raye. I promise. No more distractions here. No way.
And maybe if I keep telling myself that, I'll believe it too...
I'm going to scream and pitch a fit. Oh wait, I already did that. I'm going to scream and pitch a fit to you guys now because the Boy doesn't want to hear about it anymore. Cardi Raye no longer loves me and it is tearing my heart out. Last night I finally unpinned Little Miss Cardi Raye so that I could sew her up. Look at me trying to finish something. I sew the shoulders together and realise that there is *no way* that the collar is going to fit correctly onto this sweater. I can't figure out why not, I did it the way it called for in the pattern... So I decide to sew up the rest of the sweater and worry about the collar when I am done. Dear God, what has happened to my sweater!?!? I try to sew in a sleeve and get about half way through before realising that my sleeves aren't decreased at the same place in the stripe pattern as the body! Oh no, I think... Is there something wrong with the pattern? Well that's two more things I have to do to this pattern. I should tell all the other girls in the knit along about this. I bet there is something wrong with the pattern. Then I go look at everyone's sleeves and it seems that this is my own damn fault. Sigh. Time to pack this sweater up. Well, at least the body is right, I'll just fold this up here... Wait a second!! This right front side is shorter than the left front side! How did that happen!?!? Let me tell you how it happened. I forgot to change from the smaller needles after the ribbing! Now there's more to be done!!!
Just to let me recap... Instead of being almost finished with Cardi Raye, I now have to completely redo the right front side (on the correct needles this time,) rip back to the decreases on both sleeves and begin those again (in the correct place this time,) and figure out just what the hell is going on with the collar. OK, done pitching now.
In Rogue news, it's still sitting on my desk leering at me. I'm afraid of it and I think it's now taunting me.
This is the Spring-a-licious surprize I was saving for you.
I got the idea for this tank from Kerrie at Kerrie's Place. I changed the pattern only slightly. I worked it in the round (I hate sewing up) and I added some short-row shaping for a little boobage room. I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.
Cardi Raye is still sitting all nicely pinned to my living room floor. I really should get myself together and sew that thing up. Bah. Finishing is the suck.
Also via Kerrie... A new silly quiz! This one I couldn't pass up.

You are a GRAMMAR GOD!
If your mission in life is not already to
preserve the English tongue, it should be.
Congratulations and thank you!
How grammatically sound are you?

I'm thinking about doing this Photographic Interview. Jessica from Fig and Plum was talking about it the other day. Basically, you take pictures to represent the answers to abstract questions such as, "Who am I?" and "My guilty pleasure is..." It looks pretty interesting, though difficult. Some of the less abstract questions like "I always carry...," I've already answered. But some of these questions are difficult. I think it would be interesting if we all did this. Learn about each other through our photographs.
And a new silly quiz:

You are the Consummate Hipster. Newbies bow to
you, everyone else just stares, as you swagger
down the street with "Little Green
Bag" stuck in your head.
What Kind of Hipster Are You?

The only knitting picture I have for you today is of Cardi Raye mid-block. I'm working on something Spring-a-licious, but it's really quick and I want it to be a surprize. ;)
